Scheduling Information

The Erie County Public Library offers tours of its facilities to a wide range of groups. A club or an organization may want to take a tour of the library to learn about the many resources the library has to offer. Or, classes of young and adult students can come to find out how to do research for a particular project.

There are several types of tours, to accomodate the needs of various groups:

  • General Tour
A knowledgeable tour guide from our team of volunteers will give an overview of each of the departments of the library, as well as a brief history. General tours usually last 30-45 minutes.

  • Research Tour
Students who are planning to do research for a specific subject will find this tour to be very beneficial. The tour is led by a staff person from our Reference and Adult Services department. Research Tours are usually customized for the group’s area of interest.

  • Children’s Library Tour
(Available Fall -- Spring) Children’s groups / classes take advantage of this fun tour. This tour is led by a staff person from the library’s Children’s Services department. Included with this tour of the Children’s Library is a story, a short film, a presentation on how to obtain a library card, and how to take good care of library materials.

Tours should be scheduled at least several weeks in advance. Call us for more information, and available times/dates.
