Summer Reading Program Challenge

The Teen Summer “Program Challenge” is a great way to learn new things, meet friends, and join in on all the summer fun! Along with the summer reading challenge, teens are encouraged to join in an activity or two. Teens who are going into 7th grade through graduated seniors are welcome to participate. Teens will get one entry for the end of summer prize drawing for every program they attend. Prizes include a 4 pack of Splash Lagoon tickets, new books, an art kit and more!

There are lots of great programs for teens this summer! The Book vs Movie Club will meet five times to watch a “book turned movie” on the big screen and share their thoughts with an activity and a snack. In July, we will read Shadow Behind the Stars, see a play and meet the performers. On Thursday nights, we will host workshops on a variety of topics including baking, finding a job, and getting social. Crafternoons will be held in the Teen Space throughout the summer and we will make beach glass jewelry, paint, draw and craft. There are so many programs to choose from to help you build a better world.

Summer reading is summer learning. All events are free and most do not require registration. Check out the online events calendar for more information on teen programs. You can also contact the Teen Services Librarian at library-teenservices@eriecountypa.gov.
