Ancestry.com is the largest collection of family history records on the web that includes U.S. Census records and images.

Access to this site is only available in the Heritage Room at the Blasco Memorial Library.

New England Historic Genealogical Society

This is the oldest genealogy society in the country, founded in 1845. They have over 110 million names in 2,200 databases. The databases include Canada, Ireland, England and the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.


This database is available in the Heritage Room at the Blasco Memorial Library.


RootsWeb - http://www.rootsweb.com

This is the oldest and largest free genealogy site and is supported by Ancestry.com. RootsWeb provides access to family trees, numerous web resources, and search engines.


Family Search - http://www.familysearch.org

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints website that contains genealogical records from all over the world.


Godfrey Memorial Library  http://www.godfrey.org
This site has a wealth of information that is free through a listing of web site connections. Information available here may include birth, death, or marriage records from various states and ethnic groups.


To view these sites, click on the words “Godfrey Online Resources Portal.” A login screen will appear. Enter Guest in the blank that asks for password or pin and click on the Go button.


USGenWeb - http://www.usgenweb.org

This completely free-of-charge website offers access to genealogical resource links for every state, and even some counties. 

Ellis Island - http://www.ellisislandrecords.org

Users can find and search for information about the passengers who arrived in the United States from 1892 to 1924 and see digital copies of the original ship manifests.

Find a Grave - http://www.findagrave.com

Users can search over 6.3 million grave records to find out where someone is buried. Most of the records include date of birth and death.


National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) http://www.archives.gov/search
Users can access the
U.S. census records from 1790-1920, military and pension information from 1776 to 1900, immigration records from 1820 to 1957, and various naturalization documents.

Contains information on the Society’s publications, membership, and links to other local organizations.

Users can access information on the
Erie County History Center, various historic locations in the area, and their library and its archives.
