Renew books from home using your computer
All library materials, except for feature film DVD’s and magazines, may be renewed when:
1. The item is not overdue
2. No other patron has reserved the item
3. The item has not been renewed once before
You may renew your items by connecting to the library catalog over the Internet. Use your Internet browser to connect to the Library Catalog at :
After connecting to the catalog, enter your “Library Card Number” and “Password” in the fields provided at the top of the page. Your “Library Card Number” is your 14 digit library card number (without spaces) and your “Password” is the 7 digit phone number (no spaces, no dash) we have listed on your account unless you have changed it.
Once you have logged in, click on “My Account”.
Click on “Renew My Materials”. You will see a list of items you currently have checked out. Mark your selections by renewing all or choosing individual items. Click on “Renew Selected Items”.
The items that have been renewed will be confirmed and a new due date displayed.
Renew books by phone
The renewal line phone number is : 814-455-2475. This is system is available 7 days a week except during maintenance programming between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
You will need your library card number and password to use this system. Your password is usually the last 7 digits of your phone number unless you have changed it. The automated attendant will prompt you for the information needed to renew your items.
To renew your checked out items from home via telephone call 814-455-2475. Your call will be answered by an automated system.
When asked for your library card number, type the entire library card number on your telephone’s keypad and then press the # key.
The system will repeat your library card number. Press the number 9 if it is correct. If it is not correct press the number 8 and try to enter it again.
Once your library card number has been entered successfully, you will be prompted for your password. Type your password on the telephone keypad followed by pressing the # key. (Note that your password is usually the last 7 digits of your phone number.)
Once you have successfully logged in, you will be prompted with the following menu of choices:
Press 1 to renew an item(s).
Press 2 to list your overdue items.
Press 3 for a list of your fines.
Press 4 for a list of “available” holds. (This does not list all of your holds; only those currently available for you to pick up. Please wait to be notified by the library that your hold is ready.)
Press 5 for a list of items currently checked out to you.
Press 6 to change your password.
Press 0 (zero) to hear the menu again.
Press the * key to exit the automated system.
If you choose number 1 to renew items you will have three choices:
Renew All items (press 1),
Renew one item by barcode (press 2). Press 7# when finished.
Renew a book from a list of checked out titles (press 3). (See further directions below)
Once you have entered or selected an item to be renewed the system will tell you the new due date if the renewal succeeded or it will say “this item cannot be renewed” if there are no renewals allowed, it has exceeded the renewal limit, is on hold for another patron or there are other issues with your library card.
If you choose renewal choice 3 – Renew a book from a list of checked out titles, you will have these additional response key options:
Renew the item (press 5)
If you have additional items to renew or want to skip the item given, (press 6)
To exit for a new menu (press 7).
NOTE: The renewal line will not be available between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
