Book Honorarium Program Guidelines and Information:
Purpose of the Book Honorarium Program and ECPL Book Endowment
Gifts/donations (monetary contributions) to the Book Honorarium Program are used to build the ECPL Book Endowment established within the Erie Community Foundation. The Book Endowment was created to assist the Erie County Public Library in meeting its needs for purchasing and maintaining up-to-date information, books, periodicals and materials for all library users. The interest from this endowment is used by the Erie County Public Library to purchase these materials.
Honorarium, Memorial, or Tribute Gifts
Your honorarium or memorial contribution becomes part of the Book Endowment and your gift will become a part of the permanent Honorarium/Memorial Book. This book is displayed at all Erie County Public Library outlets. This represents a more permanent and lasting acknowledgement of your generous gift. A thank you will be sent to you and one acknowledgement will be sent to the individual (designee) you indicate.
Policy on accepting purchased books
Effective January 2, 2002, the Book Honorarium Program no longer accepts purchased or used books for the memorial program. All pre-purchased or used books will be either used in the library’s general collection or given to the Friends of the Erie County Library.
