Guest Speaker Debbie Lyons
Mill Creek flowed freely from Glenwood Park Avenue to the bay front one hundred years ago. Today it is largely forgotten, contained by a massive underground tube. On August 3, 1915, fueled by a torrential 24-hour rainstorm, the fury of the Mill Creek Flood forever changed the lives of the people of Erie, Pennsylvania. This is their story. Guest Speaker Debbi Lyon helps patrons trace their genealogy at the Blaso Memorial Library. In her spare time, she writes a popular blog, Old Time Erie, and is the author of Greetings from Wesleyville. Debbi is also a board member at KaleidAScope, Inc., a non-profit that specializes in Asperger’s services.
