Teen Summer Reading

Preteens and Teens 10-15

Readers will pick up a reading folder and prize bag at any Erie County Public Library location. Then, children use the stickers provided to track the minutes they read (or that caregivers read to them). Children are welcome to set their own reading goals. Once they achieve them, they can exchange their completed reading log into any library location for a final prize. The library will also be hosting a number of fun and interesting summer programming, including visits from the Erie Zoo, interactive shows by local performers, and summer-themed storytimes. Please visit our event calendar or view our Summer Reading Program brochure for more details. Teens and Preteens sign up for a summer reading account by clicking on the picture above. They then log their reading minutes throughout the summer, along with posting reviews of what they read. At any time, teens are welcome to stop in to get a free “Beneath the Surface” reading bookmark.Upon reaching 500 minutes, teens can come to any location of the Erie County Public Library to receive a collapsible water bottle or stylus pen (while supplies last).

At 1000 minutes, teens are entered to win the grandprize: a GoPro Hero Camera. Second prize winners will receive a $20 Barnes and Nobles gift card.
